The following items will not be accepted for the Community Thrift Store:

  • Appliances (other than from Shell Point that are less than 13 yrs. old)
  • Baby strollers/car seats/baby beds/cribs/high chairs/baby walkers
  • Blinds (sizing and cords are an issue)
  • Books (limited space…only Bibles, coffee-table type books, antique, and brand new)
  • Car parts
  • Carpet remnants (area rugs are acceptable) 
  • Chemicals of any kind (used paint, cleaning chemicals, etc.)
  • Clothes that are soiled, stained, worn out or odorous
  • Computer towers, monitors, printers, fax machines, keyboards, scanners unless new with all of the discs and manuals
  • Cosmetics & Toiletries (used) NEW are acceptable
  • Counter tops (smaller pieces of granite will be accepted)
  • Food/drinks (unopened, canned, not expired, bagged food – please give to a local food pantry)
  • Furniture that is very large (entertainment centers and particle board), broken, stained, torn, remnants of cat/dog hair, or odorous
  • Gas cans - used
  • Lawn equipment – gas powered
  • Linens that are soiled, stained, worn out or odorous
  • Mattresses
  • Medical devices (that require a prescription)
  • Pianos and organs (all other musical instruments accepted)
  • Pillows (bed)
  • Plants (live)
  • Stuffed animals (based on condition)
  • Swimming suits (unless new in packages)
  • Treadmills (limited exercise equipment)
  • TVs - analog or tube televisions (FLAT SCREENS ACCEPTED)
  • Underwear (unless new in packages)
